Hello Chris,
I dug your style as a snowboarder back then and you have a cool blog. We met shortly on a summer camp in Garmisch, Germany in 1997 (?). I was the right hand of the local manager, called Black, and helped organize the K2 board test center on the glacier. I was blown away by the fact I hung out with you guys from the movies (but it was terrible to see that most of the US guys didnt like the really delicious German food served at the hotel and went to McDonalds instead every day). I am still riding and me and my friends are still trying hard to become reasonable freeride/freestyle snowboarders. Its still the same as it used to be. At the age of 30, my friend just broke his wrist a month ago while frist-trying the medium kicker line of Stubai glacier park. He is well again now and we will go shredding soon. Hope you will too.
Cheers,
Martin
Martin, It’s great to hear from you and that you are still shredding. I have so many great memories of Garmisch. Luckily they are not all of McDonalds.
No, as I recall you were one of the few who actually ate at the hotel. Have a good 2012.
Regards
